The Salton Sea Revisited

According to the Desert Sun, on Thursday, February 27, 2014, Washington DC Congressional leaders requested renewable energy designation for Salton Sea, and Imperial Irrigation District and Imperial County officials are working to advance a plan that would develop geothermal resources there.

Earlier that same day, the Department of the Interior and the Salton Sea Authority also signed a 10-year memorandum of understanding in which both parties agreed to collaborate and exchange technical and scientific information necessary for improving conditions in the area.
